Expertise

Felix Rützel specializes in advising on IT law, including issues relating to digital intellectual property rights and trade secrets.

Felix advises national and international clients. His expertise ranges from providing specific advice on IT law issues and drafting contracts (in particular software contracts) to supporting large-scale digitization projects. A particular focus of his work is advising on new EU digital legislation. He also represents his clients in domain disputes, particularly in domain arbitration proceedings, and assists with the acquisition of domains. In addition, Felix advises his clients in complex proceedings for the protection of trade secrets and represents them in court.

His client base includes online platforms, search engine operators, software and media companies, financial institutions, vehicle manufacturers, mechanical engineering companies, and companies in the renewable energy sector.

Before joining Grünecker in 2025, Felix worked as an IT lawyer at an international law firm. He gained further practical experience in this field during his legal clerkship at two other international law firms.

Before beginning his career as a lawyer, Felix earned his doctorate in IT law at the Chair of Public Law, European Law, and Information Technology Law at the University of Passau.

Felix regularly publishes specialist articles on current topics in IT and IP law.
