Expertise
Thomas Kohlert has been working in the field of patents at Grünecker since 2021. He advises national and international clients primarily in the area of patent law.
In this context, he prepares new patent and utility model applications and guides them through the examination process at the European Patent Office (EPO) and the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA) until they are granted.
In addition, he regularly acts in bilateral proceedings, in particular opposition and appeal proceedings as well as infringement proceedings before the regional courts and the Unified Patent Court. In the latter case, he works closely with experienced attorneys.
In addition to this focus on grant proceedings and subsequent patent litigation, Thomas also regularly conducts legal opinions, infringement analyses, and freedom-to-operate analyses in order to provide his clients with the most comprehensive advice possible. His technical focus is on the fields of physics, medical technology, mechanical engineering, and computer technology.
