Expertise

Benedikt Wörz works in patent law, particularly in the field of computer and information technology as well as automation technology. As a patent engineer, he assists clients in obtaining and enforcing technical property rights, combining in-depth IT knowledge with practical project experience from industry.

Benedikt studied computer science at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, focusing on robotics and machine learning. Study visits to the Politecnico di Milano and the University of Technology Sydney complemented his education with international perspectives.

Professionally, Benedikt worked as a software developer for a robotics company and as an application engineer for an international company in the field of industrial automation. These positions have shaped his patent practice with a special understanding of development processes, product requirements, and the practical implementation of complex technical solutions.

Benedikt works as a patent engineer and is currently training to become a German and European patent attorney. In this role, he is involved in freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses as well as patent prosecution, opposition, and patent infringement proceedings. Another focus of his work is advising on the patentability of software and computer-implemented inventions.

Benedikt is a member of the BDPA.
