Grünecker is strengthening its team at the Munich office with Dr. Julia Traumann as its new Counsel as of September 01, 2024. Following the appointment of Sebastian Ochs as equity partner in January 2023, the firm is currently pursuing its expansion strategy in the area of IP litigation.
Dr. Julia Traumann is a certified specialist lawyer for intellectual property rights. Her clients include both national and international companies, which she represents in all aspects of patent law, with a particular focus on the life sciences sector. She also provides regular advice on related areas of intellectual property law, unfair competition law, drug advertising law and regulatory requirements.
Dr. Julia Traumann previously worked as a legal director in the patent litigation department of an international commercial law firm in Munich and completed a secondment in London, UK. Furthermore, she was an external legal counsel at a company in the pharmaceutical sector which operates one of the databases of the system for the authentication of medicinal products in Germany under the European “Directive on the Prevention of the Entry of Falsified Medicinal Products into the Legal Supply Chain” (Falsified Medicines Directive).
Dr. Julia Traumann will complement the team comprising the partners, Dr. Ulrich Blumenröder, Dr. Bernd Allekotte and Sebastian Ochs, in representing clients in patent infringement matters before all relevant German courts and the Unified Patent Court. Grünecker is thus strengthening its position in the field of IP litigation and further expanding its expertise in the life sciences sector.
Sebastian Ochs remarks on the transition of Dr. Julia Traumann to Grünecker: “The entire team is very pleased to be working with Dr. Julia Traumann. Our national and international clientele will benefit considerably from the additional expertise and accomplished work of Dr. Julia Traumann.”
Dr. Ulrich Blumenröder further adds that “Dr. Julia Traumann, with her many years of experience, is a valuable team member for the litigation area and will further strengthen our position in the market.”
“ I am very pleased to be part of such a renowned law firm as Grünecker and hope to be able to help shape the growth in patent litigation and further strengthen it through my focus on the life science sector,” says Dr. Julia Traumann.
