We would like to inform you that fake emails with the subject line “Notification for investigation of intellectual property rights infringement” or “Notification to address intellectual property rights violations” are currently in circulation. These emails are being sent from a “@gmail.com” address.
These emails misuse our law firm name and individual contact details, including our official email address info@grunecker.de.
The senders of the fake messages claim to be pursuing copyright infringement and demand certain actions. They attempt to lure recipients into interacting with malicious links or attachments.
Important: These emails are not from the law firm Grünecker Patent- und Rechtsanwälte. They are fake. Our IT systems were not involved at any time.
We do not know who sent these emails. We have therefore filed a criminal complaint.
You have received an email like this: What should you do?
If you have received such an email, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience and emphasize once again that the email did not originate from our company.
In that case please proceed as follows:
- Do not open any links or attachments. These may contain malware.
- If you have already opened links or attachments, we strongly recommend that you check your system immediately with current antivirus software and delete the email.
- In future, pay attention to the sender’s address. Emails from Grünecker are sent exclusively from @grunecker.de addresses, never from @gmail.com addresses or other domains.
Do you already know us?
If you are a client of our law firm or are in contact with us regarding a legal matter and have received a suspicious email, please do not hesitate to contact us directly if you have any concerns. A quick phone call is all it takes—we will be happy to check whether the email actually came from us.
