Dr. Julia Traumann and Dr. Ulrich Blumenröder have contributed two chapters for “The Unified Patent Court 2025 Guide” recently published by Chambers and Partners.
The first chapter deals with the Central Division of the Unified Patent Court (Munich Seat) and provides a concise overview of the structure of the Court of First Instance, the competence of the Central Division (Munich Seat), its composition, previous decisions and orders, interaction with other divisions, and initial practical experience.
The second chapter deals with the Munich Local Division of the Unified Patent Court and trends and developments there. Since the start of the Unified Patent Court, the Munich Local Division has been the division with the highest case load and will continue to contribute significantly to the development of the case law of the Unified Patent Court in the future. The chapter highlights current issues in their overall context and identifies trends and expected developments.
