Grünecker appoints three new Associate Partners

Grünecker has appointed three new Associate Partners, Dr. Markus Grammel, Sebastian Ochs and Philipp Strommer at its Munich office. The firm thus strengthens its expertise in the three core areas.

Dr. Markus Grammel is a German and European Patent Attorney primarily representing clients from the biotechnology and pharmaceutical chemistry sectors. He advises young companies and founders in the early stages of their development as well as universities, established companies and international corporations. He takes clients comprehensively beyond the grant phase of a patent, into the areas of exploitation and defence of their own property rights as well as on securing sufficient freedom of action against the property rights of others. He has extensive experience in complex opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office and in contentious patent cases, in Europe and beyond. For Dr. Markus Grammel, it is clear that as different as clients and their situations are, so are their needs: “Goal-oriented and pragmatic solutions are the be-all and end-all of good advice.”

Sebastian Ochs is an Attorney-at-Law specializing in patent litigation. He advises on all fields of technology, in particular on electrical and mechanical engineering. His main focus is on SEP/FRAND litigation and in this respect he also provides comprehensive assistance to clients in out-of-court and in-court disputes. His work also includes the drafting of contracts, mainly in relation to technical intellectual property rights. For Sebastian Ochs, the decisive factor in his advice is always the view of the appropriate strategy for the respective client: “Every client is unique and every case is different. That's why different perspectives are important in order to break out of the usual ways of doing things and also develop “outside the box” approaches to solutions that best serve the client's interests.”

Philipp Strommer is an Attorney-at-Law advising in all areas of soft IP with a focus on the judicial and extrajudicial enforcement of non-conventional as well as well-known trademarks and designs. His practice also focuses on unfair competition law (UWG) as well as strategic advice on IP registration, market entry and contract drafting. Philipp Strommer advises national and international clients in a broad range of industries, in particular in the areas of luxury and lifestyle goods, comprehensively in prosecution, enforcement and litigation. Due to his personal and commercially driven advisory approach, he sees further growth potential in his new role: “I enjoy developing client relationships and solving complex issues together with my team. The focus is on the various needs of the clients as well as economic solutions.”

With the appointment of Dr. Markus Grammel, Sebastian Ochs and Philipp Strommer as Associate Partners, Grünecker continues its steady growth. The firm focuses on the promotion and development of its own talent.
