Trademark protection for Apple stores

The Court of Justice of the European Union confirms that Apple can have its concept for setting up and designing its stores protected as a trademark. The Handelsblatt discusses the matter with Dr. Nicolás Schmitz, Specialist Intellectual Property Attorney at the Munich office of the law firm of Grünecker. Dr. Nicolás Schmitz expects that very many brands will now attempt to obtain trademark protection for the way they build and design their stores. According to Dr. Schmitz, this could be worthwhile, and can be achieved at a comparatively low cost.
