Grünecker was again recognised as a gold tier firm in the new WTR 1000 ranking. The team “with more than 6,600 national trademarks and some 6,100-plus European trademarks under its care” counts among “largest and most formidable trademark prosecution practices in Germany”, according to the editors. Further key areas of expertise include “acting in precedential disputes at the EUIPO and the courts, and implementing productive anti-counterfeiting programmes”.
In addition to the gold tier ranking for Grünecker, Maximilian Kinkeldey, Nicolás Schmitz and Holger Gauss were also awarded gold. Maximilian Kinkeldey is named as “perhaps the most knowledgeable trademark lawyer in Germany” by a client. The client further states that he is “the attorney I trust the most in any of the more than 150 countries in which I work”. “Excellent and highly experienced practitioner” Nicolás Schmitz is described as “knowledgeable, practical and highly effective”. Holger Gauss is praised for his “straightforward answers” and clients appreciate not only his “exceptional knowledge of EU trademark law” but also his ability as a “problem-solver” who “thinks creatively and is time-efficient and thorough”. Anja Franke who “stays on top of things and remains proactive throughout the entire life of a case” and Cornelia Schmitt who is described as “highly responsive, smart and a tremendously important part of the Grünecker team” received a bronze tier ranking.
