If this is the case, there is a world of exciting opportunities: "Ranging from mechanical inventions to new chemical substances, through to profitable transmission pathways in telecommunications", explains Dr Allekotte. The particular challenge for patent attorneys is to also technically penetrate their subject area. Dr Allekotte anticipates that the German market will also become more international for patent law firms: "Teams working on increasingly complex and international litigation are going to expand."
