Expertise
Bernd Allekotte is recognised as one of the leading attorneys in the field of patent litigation. In over 25 years, he has conducted several hundred patent litigation cases.
He specialises in complex and commercially significant cases, often involving foreign disputes. Due to his LL.M. studies and his work as an attorney in New York, he has particularly close ties to the US market.
Bernd represents patent infringement cases in all technical fields. He currently focuses on the automotive (connected cars), telecommunications, and life sciences sectors. In the field of connected cars, in particular, he has consistently represented extensive litigation series since 2016.
Many of his cases are related to SEP/FRAND—he is one of the leading experts in this field. Due to his specialisation in his studies and dissertation, he has particular expertise in antitrust law and also offers sound advice on complex licensing issues in the field of technology transfer.
In addition, he is one of the leading attorneys before the new Unified Patent Court, where he filed a lawsuit on the very first day of its existence. His clients range from large multinational companies, predominantly based in the USA and Asia, to highly innovative SMEs.
