Expertise

Gero Maatz-Jansen has set himself the goal of obtaining the best possible position for his clients in intellectual property rights.

His work focuses on obtaining technical property rights in Germany, Europe and worldwide.
Gero has particular expertise in opposition and appeal proceedings, both before the European Patent Office (EPO) and before the authorities and courts in Germany (DPMA, BPatG).

For more than twenty years, he has advised and represented his clients in these proceedings and patent infringement proceedings—sometimes on the side of the proprietor and sometimes on the side of the opponent.

In his spare time, Gero enjoys skiing and, equipped with his double bass, is a member of the patent orchestra. Occasionally, his profession and hobbies come together – for example, when industrial property rights for string instruments or their strings are created.
