
Dr. Heike Vogelsang-Wenke
Expertise
Heike Vogelsang-Wenke has a strong background in biotechnology, with university degrees in chemistry and biology and a PhD in molecular biology.
In addition to her work as a patent attorney, Heike has published various papers on biotechnological intellectual property issues. She is also a member of multiple committees and associations. Since 2004, Heike has been a member of the board of the German Chamber of Patent Attorneys, chair of the disciplinary department and, since 2011, a European Patent Institute council member.
She has published on numerous biotechnological IP topics and co-authored “Protection of Biotechnological Matter under European and German Law”, Wiley-VCH, 1997.
Heike is a Council Member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPI), an Associate Member of the EPPC (European Patent Practice Committee) and of the Harmonization Committee of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office and Chair of its Nomination Committee. Until May 2023, she was Vice-President of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office.
Heike has two adult children. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, and while at home, she enjoys activities such as hiking, skiing, or rowing, depending on the season.
