Expertise

Philip Schwertler has been practising patent law since 2013, focusing mainly on the technical fields of production technology and mechanical engineering.

A key aspect of his work is drafting patent applications for individual inventors, medium-sized companies, and large corporations and guiding them through the grant process.

Philip possesses extensive expertise in drafting complex patent applications and efficiently managing patent families with IP rights in various countries. In this context, he enjoys working regularly with foreign correspondent law firms.

Philip also has strong expertise in conducting comprehensive FTO analyses in the run-up to the market launch of new products. He conducts searches, taking into consideration the ongoing development process, and analyses third-party property rights regarding potential risks.

Philip’s portfolio also includes opposition proceedings before the Opposition Divisions and Boards of Appeal of the EPO, where he both defends his client’s IP rights and conducts oppositions against third-party IP rights.

Philip is a member of the EPI.
