Markus Grammel is an expert in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. As a partner at Grünecker, he advises clients on protecting their intellectual property, focusing strongly on all aspects of patent law.

His extensive technical knowledge in chemistry and biology, analytical approach, years of experience in complex litigation, and quick-wittedness in oral proceedings make Markus a highly valued advisor who provides tangible benefits to his clients.

His responsibilities include drafting patent applications, managing global patent portfolios, and representing clients before the Examining Divisions of the European Patent Office. He handles complex opposition and validity proceedings, appeal cases, and supports his clients in patent infringement matters. In recent years, he has successfully defended crucial intellectual property rights for clients and secured freedom to operate in key markets.

During his doctoral studies at Rockefeller University in New York, Markus gained his technical expertise in chemical biology. Before this, he completed his studies at the Technical University of Munich and spent time at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research in Melbourne.

In his leisure time, Markus enjoys mountain activities and cycling with his family.
